Actors Portfolio / Mini Crit

OUGD603 / EXTENDED PRACTICE
ACTORS PORTFOLIO
MINI CRIT / FRONT PAGE.

I Initially felt that i had made a decision on the front cover for the Actors portfolio I am currently putting together. However, after looking at them again I'm nit sure which I prefer as I think all of them offer something different.

Because of this I decided to join a mini crit that some of my peers set up in the studio. This was a really informal meeting and the people involved were asking questions about different things that they were currently in the process of preparing. there were 4 of us all together.

I got up some of the options i had created for the from of the portfolio and asked which they thought was the best representation for an actor.

FEEDBACK:

- The grey and black looks more like a fashion based document and could be confused for a modelling portfolio, It looks a bit like a fashion magazine layout.

- The dark image with the blue shape looks a bit to grungy, especially with the 2 colours on there, might be a bit complex.

- They all preferred the image that have the type over the actors face. They said that the balance was better because everything is focussed in the centre of the page. They also like the mysterious theme i was trying to accomplish with this first page

Even though I had chosen this image previously anyway, I fee that i needed some outside opinions because I had been looking at these images for a long time and I had started to loose perspective on them. getting outside opinions and perspective really helped me to re-alighn my focus and settle on something i could now build on.
