BONE BROTHS / PART 2
FURTHER DEVELOPMENT.
During the recent crit I had with a group of around 7 people, I discussed whether I should carry on with Bone broths or leave it were it is.
I decided to push this project further on a personal level. This is because I felt that I had done all these illustrations that had taken me close to 20 hours to produce and just having them for one product could be a waste of ally his hard work.
At this point, I didnt really have the time to do any more illustrations so I had to use the ones I already had. During the crit, there were a couple of ideas thrown around in how I could push this brand further. Most were other stock based items such as stock cubes, and flavour rubs. As well as this I thought I could add in some more flavours to the mix to show a wider range.
As well as food based produce, we also discussed options that saw items such as bugs, bowls, tea towels and oven hits as these are all items that could be related to the broth and cooking.
I decided to look at creating different flavours of this liquid broth which in turn looked at different colours for the packaging. I also decided to make packaging for some stock cubes as well as flavour infusers/bouquet garnets.

STOCK CUBE PACKAGING
I had to work at a quick pace at this stage as I felt that this project had taken up alloy of my time because of having to for with clients and well as other outside sources. I didn't really take to many screen shots of the progress. However all the through I just made sure that the aesthetic remained consistent even though I rearranged the illustrations and adjusted colour.
I also created this box that worked as a horizontal, square box that had a large lid on the box. this box held 16 bullion cube which offered a more substantial amount of produce.
I printed out a coupled of rough testers of these ideas to get and idea for which one worked better than the other.
I liked this composition, however it was an issue standing this item up, because it was thinner and taller, the balance was off which wasn't so could considering this is how you would want it stood in you cupboard.
This shape of the box work so much better. I also think because it has to lye down, it gives a contrast to the liquid stock packaging. Even though I like the shape, the front of the box didn't really work as the rectangle just looked odd in the centre of the box.
I recreated this packaging but reduced the size slightly and had it so that the rectangular shape fit better on the top panel
During the making of these boxes, The hardest thing is to line up all the images on the net and making sure that the images line up properly when the boxes are made up.
I really like this shape and I think hat it adds a good contrast to the brand and the range. Even though it is different, it still remains consistent to the brand.
As well as the box, I felt that it needed a little more of a character and a speciality about it to make it different from everything else you see.
I had the idea off adding the text that states the intention on the brand and this message give a personal approach to this presentation. I wanted to have tho message as part of the owning of the box so it almost acts as a little surprise and added influence to the packaging.
I wanted to utilise these flaps that are a part of the net and the help to hold the box together. I tried this by making this flaps longer so that the meet in the middle.
To over come this, I instead mad one of the flaps longer so it stretched all the way across the surface of the box. This means that the message can be presented in a fuller way and has a lot more clarity. Im really happy that how this has come out and I want to use this for the stock cube packaging idea.
