D&AD / Research / Recyclable Materials

OUGD603 / EXTENDED PRACTICE
POSSIBLE RECYCLED MATERIALS.
RESEARCH.

NATURAL KRAFT / PINSTRIPE
100% recycled board with 60% post consumer material. Interchangeable lid and bottom. Two-piece automatic construction.

I really like the aesthetic of this material and how it gives a pinstripe effect. I really think that this gives the packaging more character and texture. Unfortunately this material is only available from the USA and is sold as ready made boxes rather than in sheets which is what we need in order to print.

PANGEA ORGANICS

This company specialises in sustainable and recyclable products and well as packaging. This packaging is made for recycled newspaper and doesn't use any dyes, gluesor bleaches in the making process. not only is it recycled but this packaging can be soaked in water, planted and plants will grow from it.

60 DAY BAG

This bag is made from industrial waste. This means that no extra natural materials and used and also uses little energy to make. The bag is called the 60 day bag because the materials eventually start to naturally decompose. This means the bag is re-usable up until a certain time and does not impact landfill due to the composition once disregarded.

I really like the texture of this back and how it really gives a sense of organics and rough, recycled aesthetics. This only enforces the ethical approach to the packaging.

RECYCLED PAPER PACKAGING

This packaging has an outer protective layer that is made from recycled paper and straws. This would a great solution for delivery packaging because of its hardy nature.

This packaging is an adaptation of the already popular 'clever little bag' from puma. This adaptation shows an out shell created from recycled materials that protects the content when being delivered.
